Create an Incident Notification Rule

Notification rules email people the moment an incident is reported. Here's how to make one.

  1. Click Incidents in the left sidebar, then the Notifications tab.

  2. Click the blue + ADD RULE button in the upper-right corner.

  3. In Rule name, type a name you'll recognize later.

  4. Under Step 1 · Scope, choose who counts as a reporter - only incidents reported by these people will trigger the email. 

  5. (Optional) Under Step 2 · Jobs / Locations, pick a site to watch. Leave it empty to cover all locations.

  6. (Optional) Under Step 3 · Category, pick which incident types to cover. Leave it empty to cover all categories.

  7. Under Recipients, type a name and click it to add that person. Add as many as you need.

  8. Click Save rule. The rule shows as Active and starts working right away.

Good to Know

  • Steps 2 and 3 narrow the rule. An incident must match both to send an email.
  • Recipients should be Tyfoom admins. You can't type in an email address.
  • If they don't have permission to view incidents, they will get an error page if sent the link.
  • Only admins and managers can open the incident the email links to.
  • You can create as many rules as you need, and put the same person on several.
